BORDERTOWN: Teachings of Dookʼoʼoosłííd
At the base of Dookʼoʼoosłííd—the sacred San Francisco Peaks—lies a complex meeting place. Flagstaff is both a city of beauty and contradiction, a community shaped by its proximity to the Navajo Nation yet often blind to the realities faced by Diné people who live, work, and create here. BORDERTOWN: Teachings of Dookʼoʼoosłííd brings together five Navajo artists who call Flagstaff home, illuminating the lived experience of existing within a “bordertown” — where boundaries are not only geographical but cultural, spiritual, and social.
